Global rules:
1. Respect your fellow players/posters.
This one is pretty self-explanatory. Keep discussions civil to at least some degree. If we find you blatantly insulting or disrespecting in any way any of our players, you might find that you're denied access to our server, forums or both. That includes posting links to offensive content, such as gore or pornography. The freedom of speech applies in this community, but only if you don't abuse it.
Simplified version: Play nice.
2. Technicalities won't fly.
While you may feel tempted to descend into a heated argument with a staff member on whether something really is legal to do here or not, we ask you not to. You should have enough sense to figure out the rights and wrongs on your own, so don't go doing something just because it technically is not forbidden by any rule. Doing something to test the limits on what is allowed and what isn't falls under the same category. Staff members have the right to judge the legality of a situation on their own, they don't have to look for a tiny text on page 34 of the rules to mute/kick/jail/ban you. If you feel like a staff member is abusing you, take it up with a higher ranking staff member, instead of trying to justify your actions to that same staff member.
Simplified version: Don't do stuff that you feel could get you in trouble, even if it's not technically forbidden by the rules.
3. You don't have an unlimited amount of lives.
Rules are in place to be followed. If we find you breaking them continuously, the punishments will be harsher than they would've been if you did the same thing without having two warnings or bans to your name already. If a user keeps causing trouble even after being told not to multiple times, then it is clear that this user is not compatible with this community, in which case we reserve the right to remove those users from the community. We don't know and frankly, we don't care if it was really your 6-year old little brother telling the rest of us to piss off and then spamming pornographic material, it's your account, therefore it's your responsibility. If you feel that a ban or some other punishment was unfair, you may always appeal it, but keep in mind that if we really do have definitive proof of you (or anyone using your account, at least) breaking any rules multiple times, the chances of us being nice to you decrease.
Simplified version: The more you break the rules, the less we want you here.
Server rules:
1. All global rules apply.
2. Hacking or cheating of any kind is not allowed. That includes, but is not necessarily limited to hack clients, x-ray resource packs, or pretty much anything that would give you an unfair advantage over the other players. You are allowed to use mods on this server, but not all mods. Ask a staff member if you're unsure whether a mod you're using is allowed or not. The exception to that rule are staff members who may use hacks to help them with their staffing duties.
3. Griefing or stealing of any kind is not allowed. If a house is not yours, don't break it or add to it. If a cave looks like it might be inhabited, don't break it or add to it. If you find some stuff lying on the ground that looks like it could be someone else's, perhaps left there by the person dying, don't pick it up and claim it as your own. The exceptions to this rule are pranks. Pranks involving minor griefing or minor stealing are allowed, as long as they're in good spirit and the damages done are reverted in a few days at most.
4. Spamming and advertising of any kind is not allowed. We really do not care what your reasons were, just don't do it. There are no exceptions to this rule.
5. Player vs player combat is only allowed in areas specifically meant for it. We understand that sometimes some players can be incredibly irritating, or they may be breaking some rules right in front of your eyes, or you may simply find it fun watching people suffer a slow and agonizing death, but keep that in PvP arenas or areas that have enabled direct PvP. Everybody have the right to live, as long as they keep out of the warzones.
6. Begging for items or higher ranks or anything really is not allowed. We don't enforce this rule as strictly as we enforce some others, but it gets seriously annoying watching the same person ask for a promotion to King or three stacks of diamond blocks over and over and over again. So, for the sake of our sanity, earn the ranks and items yourself.
Forum rules:
1. All global rules apply.
2. Spamming or advertising of any kind is not allowed. That includes double/triple/octupleposting. We have an Edit button for a reason. The exception to this rule (doubleposting, more specifically) would be if a considerable amount of time has passed since the last post and you wish to bump the thread or if your last post has nothing to do with what you're about to say next.
3. Necroposting is not allowed. Necroposting means bumping a dead thread with a post that either adds nothing, is irrelevant to the thread or if the thread itself has become irrelevant. We don't lock and archive every single thread here after they've become dead, because they may become relevant in the future again. For that reason, we ask that you don't break the trust we place in you by necroposting.
That's about it. If you feel like something's missing from this list or that something shouldn't be on that list, tell me and we'll discuss it.
